Juan Soto Secures $17.1 Million For 2022
3 years agoWashington Nationals outfielder Juan Soto avoided salary arbitration on Tuesday by agreeing to a one-year, $17.1 million deal. Soto reportedly turned down a 13-year, $350 million contract extension from the Nationals prior to the lockout last December. The 23-year-old left-handed slugger slashed .313/.465/.534 with 29 home runs, 111 runs scored, 95 RBI and nine steals in 654 plate appearances over 151 games. The first-time All-Star also led the league in walks (145) and on-base percentage (.465). He was the runner-up to Bryce Harper for the National League MVP award and is RotoBaller's No. 2 overall fantasy player in 2022 behind former teammate Trea Turner.
