Juan Yepez Continues To Hit Cleanup
3 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals rookie first baseman Juan Yepez is back in the cleanup spot in the batting order on Tuesday for the first game of a doubleheader against New York Mets right-hander Trevor Williams. It will be the seventh straight game in which Yepez has hit cleanup for the Cardinals, and it's not likely to change anytime soon as long as he continues to hit. The 24-year-old is slashing .366/.435/.585 with a 1.020 OPS, two home runs, four RBI and seven runs scored in his first 11 major league games. It remains to be seen if his hot start will last, but those who pounced on Yepez have been ecstatic so far. He's gone hitless in just two of his first 11 games and has three doubles.
