JuJu Smith-Schuster Back At Practice, Has A Chance To Play
3 years agoPittsburgh Steelers wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster (shoulder) returned to practice on Thursday following shoulder surgery that landed him on Injured Reserve on Oct. 16, and he has a chance to play in Sunday's wild-card game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Pittsburgh officially designated him to return from IR, but whether he's activated in time for Sunday night's game will depend on how he looks in practice the rest of the week. In five games before Smith-Schuster's shoulder injury, he had 15 catches on 28 targets for 129 scoreless yards. Even if he's able to convince the Steelers to activate him for this weekend's game, it's hard to imagine him playing a huge role in Pittsburgh's game plan after such a long layoff. And his presence could take a few targets away from Chase Claypool and James Washington.
