Juju Smith-Schuster Will Undergo Shoulder Surgery (Update)
3 years agoPittsburgh Steelers wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster (shoulder) will undergo season-ending surgery this week after dislocating his shoulder in Sunday's win over the Denver Broncos. Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network initially reported that the 24-year-old underwent surgery Sunday night, but the surgery has not happened yet. He had his shoulder reduced and underwent an MRI on Sunday, which revealed the Steelers wide receiver needed surgery. Smith Schuster signed a one-year, $8 million contract with the Steelers in the offseason, hoping to regain his 2018 form. He finished the 2021 campaign with 15 receptions on 28 targets for 129 yards and a touchdown over five games. Smith-Schuster will become an unrestricted free agent this offseason. Diontae Johnson, Chase Claypool, and James Washington (groin) should all see an uptick in targets while Smith-Schuster is sidelined.
