Julio Jones Signs One-Year Deal With Buccaneers
2 years agoSeven-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Julio Jones signed an undisclosed one-year deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Tuesday, according to a source. Quarterback Tom Brady gets another new weapon before the 2022 season. Jones, who has missed 14 games the last two seasons due to various injuries, will give Tampa a bit more receiver depth in case Chris Godwin (knee) isn't ready to go by Week 1. The 33-year-old veteran looked close to the end in 2021 with the Tennessee Titans, averaging 43.4 yards per game to finish with 31 catches, 434 yards and one touchdown in 10 games played. If healthy, Jones could be a reliable pass-catching option for Brady, but with Mike Evans, Godwin and Russell Gage in the mix, it might be a stretch to think that Jones will suddenly be an every-week fantasy starter again in 2022.
