Julio Rodriguez Could Return When Eligible
2 years agoSeattle Mariners rookie outfielder Julio Rodriguez (wrist) could return from the injured list when he's first eligible on Aug. 10. He'll begin swinging a bat this weekend during the team's series against the Los Angeles Angels. It's possible the Mariners hold Rodriguez out until Aug. 12 at the Texas Rangers since they have an off day on Aug. 11. The 21-year-old All-Star is dealing with a bruised right wrist, but he should be back soon for fantasy managers. J-Rod won't need a minor league rehab assignment before returning to the major leagues, according to manager Scott Servais. Rodriguez has been a must-start in his first year in the majors, slashing .271/.334/.482 with an .816 OPS, 18 home runs, 57 RBI, 55 runs scored and 21 stolen bases in 365 at-bats.
