Julio Rodriguez Has Two Hits, Timetable Accelerating
4 years agoSeattle Mariners outfielder Julio Rodriguez went 2-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base on Thursday. While a lot of the hype has been about Jarred Kelenic this spring, the 20-year-old Dominican native is now 10-for-30 (.333) with two home runs, three steals, and a BB-K of 6-10 this spring. Rodriguez has seen his development impacted by injuries and he has yet to officially play above A-ball. However, he has an advanced approach and polished tools for his age although he's still learning to consistently tap into his raw power. He should be ready to settle in at the MLB level by 2022. He's ranked by Rotoballer as the fourth-best prospect in baseball, three spots behind his teammate Kelenic.
