3 years agoSeattle Mariners outfield prospect Julio Rodriguez is starting in center field and batting seventh in his major league debut on Opening Day on Friday against Minnesota Twins right-hander Joe Ryan. Rodriguez is only 21 years old and hasn't played at Triple-A, but the Mariners are confident that he can hold his own in the big leagues. He is the No. 3 overall prospect in baseball, per MLB Pipeline, and he hit an impressive .412/.487/.794 with a 1.281 OPS, three home runs, eight RBI, 10 runs scored and three stolen bases in 39 plate appearances in spring training.
