Julio Rodriguez Makes Mariners Opening Day Roster
3 years agoSeattle Mariners outfielder Julio Rodriguez, MLB's No. 3 prospect, has made the team's Opening Day roster. Rodriguez had another excellent day at the plate on Sunday by going 3-for-4 with a double, solo home run and two runs scored in the Cactus League game against the Kansas City Royals. The 21-year-old has three multi-hit games this spring and is batting .419 (13-for-31), which has been easily good enough for Seattle to give Rodriguez a roster spot on Opening Day. The right-handed hitter batted .347/.441/.560 with a 1.001 OPS, 13 home runs, 47 RBI, 64 runs and 21 stolen bases in 74 games with High-A Everett and Double-A Arkansas last year. Rodriguez has five-category upside and is already a top-100 fantasy outfielder before playing his first big-league game.
