Jurickson Profar Continues to Hit Second
7 years agoTexas Rangers shortstop Jurickson Profar will again slot in the no. 2 spot of the lineup behind Shin-Soo Choo. The 25-year-old has yet to do much consistently with the playing time afforded by Elvis Andrus' absence, but there have been signs of improvement. He's walking more and seeing the plate better, lowering his strikeout rate. His batting average still leaves much to desire, and the power has not yet shown up, but he's still the nominal starter with no one behind him to press him for starts. The Rangers still clearly have faith in him, as they keep slotting him at the top of the order. Hopefully one day soon he'll reward their patience by becoming a useful fantasy asset.
