Jurickson Profar Helped Off the Field, Unlikely to Return
7 years agoTexas Rangers shortstop Jurickson Profar (head) needed assistance to get off the field after a hard slide while turning two in the second inning against the Rays. Early speculation is that the injury may be concussion-related, but the Rangers have not released any details yet. Profar is extremely doubtful to return, with Drew Robinson sliding in at short to cover. It would be heartbreaking for the 25-year-old former top prospect to miss major time, as he's getting his first consistent big league playing time. If Profar is down, Robinson will take the lion's share of at-bats at the 6. Hopefully, whatever knocked Profar out against the Rays is short-lived and he can return to action soon.
