7 years agoTexas Rangers shortstop Jurickson Profar hit third in the order and responded with a seventh-inning triple, driving in a run that proved to be the game-winner against the Detroit Tigers. While Profar's overall line still isn't terribly impressive, the 25-year-old has been steadily improving since returning from a concussion a few weeks ago. Most notably, nearly seven of his last 10 hits have gone for extra bases in the last two weeks, with an ISO of .216 over that time frame. Profar is driving the ball more, making better contact and his BABIP on the season sits at .275 despite a skill set that could easily support a .310 mark. This suggests that better things are coming for Profar, and with no recent news on Elvis Andrus' return from injury, it appears the job is the youngster's for the foreseeable future. At this point, Profar makes for an intriguing buy-low candidate, especially in a dynasty league.--Sean Scampton
