6 years agoOakland Athletics first baseman Jurickson Profar will bat fifth on Thursday against the Los Angeles Angels and Trevor Cahill. With Matt Olson (hand) sidelined for six-to-eight weeks, Profar was expected to be the in-house replacement. That plan changed on Wednesday night as the Athletics traded for slugger Kendrys Morales. It is unclear how the team plans to deploy Morales, but it seems clear that Profar's playing time will be affected. The 26-year-old had a solid season in 2018 with the Texas Rangers, posting a .254 average to go along with 20 home runs and 77 RBI. Monitor the situation, as whichever player gets the majority of starts at first base has modest fantasy upside. As for Thursday's game, Profar is a budget first baseman in DFS formats that will see opportunities to drive in the Athletics' best bats.--Raymond Harrison - RotoBaller
