Justin Dunn Strikes Out Nine, Takes Loss
4 years agoSeattle Mariners starting pitcher Justin Dunn set a new career-high in strikeouts Tuesday night, setting down nine Tigers, but unfortunately he was still saddled with the loss. Dunn failed to complete six innings yet again, throwing 5 2/3 innings and giving up two runs on five hits and a walk. Dunn has not managed to get out of the fifth this season, making him a very difficult player to roster in leagues that reward quality starts. The fact that he only gave up two walks is a good sign, as Dunn has allowed an unsightly 5.71 walks per nine innings this season, and 6.41 walks per nine for his career. Dunn doesn't have a place on fantasy rosters for now, but his upside remains tantalizing.
