Justin Dunn Tosses Two Innings In First Rehab Outing
2 years agoCincinnati Reds right-hander Justin Dunn (shoulder) gave up a run on three hits in two innings of work for High-A Dayton on Sunday in his first minor league rehab outing. The former first-rounder was one of three players the Reds acquired from the Seattle Mariners in March in the trade that sent outfielder Jesse Winker and third baseman Eugenio Suarez to the Mariners. Dunn has been on the injured list all season with right shoulder inflammation. He last pitched on June 17 last year and went 1-3 with a 3.75 ERA and 1.31 WHIP for Seattle in 11 starts. The 26-year-old will surely need at least several more rehab outings in the minors, but he could become an option for Cincinnati's starting rotation in the second half of the season.
