2 years agoChicago Bears head coach Matt Eberflus announced Tuesday that quarterback Justin Fields and the other starters will get approximately 25-30 plays under their belt in Saturday's preseason finale against Cleveland. Fields went 5-for-7 in a preseason Week 2 victory, amassing 39 yards through the air; even with the added reps, he faces an uphill battle to fantasy confidence for the season opener vs. the 49ers. The added plays will look to build rapport between Fields and his new-look pass-catching options, Byron Pringle, Velus Jones Jr. and Equanimeous St. Brown. Linebacker Roquan Smith will also be cleared to take the field for the game, even as he has yet to participate in team drills after having requested a trade.--Jesse Borek
