7 years agoYou might not know it given Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Justin Smoak’s overall results, but the 31-year-old may be picking things up, as he’s on a three-game hitting streak. Of course, it was only one hit in each game and only one extra-base hit over that span (a home run), but it’s something. Smoak hasn’t done much to dispel doubts that his massive breakout at age 30 was a mirage. He has struggled to the tune of a .257/.362/.431 slash line with four home runs, seven doubles, 16 runs scored and 18 RBI. Fortunately, regression was baked into Smoak’s ADP in drafts this spring, but he’s still not performing at a level that would justify what you paid for him. You should keep rolling him out there, and hopefully the last few days are a sign of good things to come.--John Smith
