Justin Upton Homers Monday
3 years agoLos Angeles Angels outfielder Justin Upton had a first-inning home run off of Gerrit Cole during Monday's 2-1 loss against the New York Yankees. It was his first home run in his last 12 games. Altogether he went 1-for-4 with a run, an RBI, and two strikeouts. He now has 16 home runs on the year and is slashing .224/.309/.429 with 37 RBI, 46 runs, and four stolen bases. Hopefully, the home run will get Upton going, as he has a .488 OPS since returning from the injured list on July 22. He should get more playing time after the Angels designated Adam Eaton for assignment, with who he was platooning alongside in the outfield. If he can get hot, fantasy managers needing outfield help should consider Upton and play him as long as his streak lasts. However, if he continues producing poor numbers, he is safe to leave on the waiver wire.
