4 years agoLos Angeles Angels outfielder Justin Upton (back) was scratched from Tuesday's lineup with back stiffness, according to Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times. Jon Jay will get the start in left field in his place and will be batting eighth against the Royals. Upton looked good in Spring Training, slashing .357/.400/.738 with four home runs and 10 RBI in 18 games, but since Opening Day he has slumped at the plate with a .194/.286/.306 triple-slash line with a 12:4 K:BB ratio in 10 games. He should be considered day-to-day, and he should be back in the Angels' lineup soon.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
