Justin Upton Stays Hot At The Top
4 years agoLos Angeles Angels outfielder Justin Upton went 3-for-5 with one RBI and two runs scored in the Angels 10-3 win over the Diamondbacks on Sunday. The veteran slugger's recent hot streak has come from an unusual place: the leadoff spot. But Upton has responded his best production at the plate in ages, slashing .361/.531/.806 with four doubles, four home runs, 13 runs batted in, 13 walks and 16 runs scored over his last 11 games. Whether the experiment has staying power remains to be seen but Upton is now batting .333 with an OPS of 1.092 through 63 at-bats from the top spot in the lineup. The veteran's fantasy arrow is pointing up moving into next week.
