6 years agoHouston Astros starter Justin Verlander struck out 11 hitters through six innings as the Astros beat the A's 4-2 on Wednesday. Verlander (13-4 ) allowed only one run as he emerged victorious for his third straight start. After a small bump in the road at the end of June, Verlander has posted a 2.88 ERA over his last four starts. The veteran is now holding opponents to a .173 batting average this season and has a sparkling 0.84 WHIP through 22 starts.
