Justin Verlander Goes Six-Plus Innings For 15th Time This Season
6 years agoHouston Astros starter Justin Verlander received a no-decision Tuesday night against the Rays despite striking out 10 in 6 2/3 innings. On a night when the Rays' Blake Snell matched him pitch for pitch, Verlander (9-2) made it through six-plus innings for the 15th time in 16 starts this season. Nobody in baseball has been as unhittable as Verlander this season, and he now sports a WHIP of 0.78, 130 strikeouts and only 62 hits in 107 innings. He's struck out at least seven hitters in 12 of 15 starts this season and is cruising towards an All-Star bid come July. Verlander is, by far, the best fantasy pitcher in the game right now.
