6 years agoHouston Astros starter Justin Verlander pitched a complete game against his former team but suffered a rare 2-1 loss on Wednesday. Verlander (15-5) struck out 11 hitters but allowed two solo home runs as a potent Astros offense was held in check. For Verlander, this is his first loss since July 5 despite lowering his ERA to 2.77 on the season.
