6 years agoHouston Astros starter Justin Verlander will try and keep the Astros alive for one more game when he takes the mound Thursday night for Game 5. Verlander picked up the win in Game 1 of the series, tossing six innings of two-run baseball. In 11 1/3 innings pitched this postseason, the veteran has allowed only four hits while striking out 13. It is safe to assume that Verlander will not be on a pitch count as the team will try and ride their ace for as long as possible. In 23 career postseason starts, Verlander is 13-6 with a 3.08 ERA, a 1.00 WHIP with 163 strikeouts in 146 1/3 innings.--Joey C - RotoBaller
