Justus Sheffield Gives Up Five Earned Runs
4 years agoSeattle Mariners starting pitcher Justus Sheffield took the loss Sunday afternoon against the Texas Rangers. The left-hander threw five innings, giving up seven runs, five of which were earned, on ten hits. He walked none and struck out five. Sheffield was cruising until the fifth inning when the wheels fell off, as six of the seven runs crossed the plate in the frame. If there's any good news, it's that this was the first outing this year that Sheffield avoided issuing a base on balls. Sheffield is firmly in the streaming discussion for fantasy, but it's hard to see him elevating out of that tier at this rate.
