6 years agoSeattle Mariners pitching prospect Justus Sheffield took over from Yusei Kikuchi in the second inning in Friday night's tilt versus the Rangers. He struggled with his command over three frames of work, throwing just 39 strikes in 75 pitches as he walked four and served up a two-run homer to Nomar Mazara. Sheffield struck out three in the short outing after he was called up on three days of rest to eat some of Kikuchi's innings. Sheffield will likely return to Triple-A, but the future is still bright for the 22-year-old. He'll be up to stay with the Mariners at some point this season, but for now he should only be looked at in deep leagues or dynasty formats.--Riley Mrack - RotoBaller
