4 years agoOakland Athletics outfielder Ka'ai Tom is 8-for-16 with four extra-base hits and five RBI through five Cactus League games. Tom was a Rule 5 Draft pick and is competing for the fourth outfielder job in Oakland with Seth Brown. Tom was impressive again on Monday roping a two-run double and also drawing a walk against the Diamondbacks. Manager Bob Melvin has taken notice of Tom and said the 26-year-old will continue to get chances to prove himself with Oakland after spending five years in the Cleveland farm system. As it stands, Tom doesn't have much fantasy value, but managers in deep leagues and AL-Only formats should continue to monitor Tom who seems on track to make his MLB debut for the A's this season.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
