Ka'ai Tom To IL, Cole Tucker Recalled Friday
4 years agoPittsburgh Pirates outfielder Ka'ai Tom (wrist) was placed on the 10-day injured list on Friday with a left wrist contusion, the team announced on Twitter. In a corresponding move, the Pirates recalled infielder Cole Tucker from Triple-A Indianapolis. Tom was slashing .200/.364/.300 with a home run, one steal, seven RBI and three runs scored in 16 games since joining Pittsburgh. Tucker had a down year in 2020, slashing .220/.252/.275 over 37 games, and while he has been slightly better at the plate in Triple-A this year, he's still slashing just .214/.302/.339 in 14 games. Unless you're in a very deep, NL-only league, Tom and Tucker can both be left on the waiver-wire.
