3 years agoHouston Texans kicker Ka'imi Fairbairn (groin) was placed on Injured Reserve on Wednesday. Fairbairn will be sidelined for at least three weeks after sustaining a groin injury before the team's final preseason game. The 27-year-old has started all 16 games for the Texans in each of his four seasons in Houston, enjoying his best season in 2018 while going 37 of 42 on field-goal attempts and 39 of 41 on extra-point attempts for a top finish among fantasy kickers. The Texans signed former Panther Joey Slye to the practice squad on Tuesday. Slye finished as a top-eight kicking option in 2019 but will have limited upside if he wins the kicking job in Houston, given that their offense isn't likely to be a productive one in 2021.--Tim Capurso
