Kalen Ballage Kicked Out of Huddle by Ryan Tannehill in Practice Sunday

6 years agoMiami Dolphins rookie running back Kalen Ballage was kicked out of the huddle by quarterback Ryan Tannehill on Sunday. Tannehill also berated Ballage after the incident to press the issue. Ballage apparently missed a blocking assignment which led to a sack of Tannehill. Tannehill had the support of his coaching staff, as head coach Adam Gase was quoted in the Miami Herald saying, "He was right today, with what he did." Ballage also called the criticism "constructive", so it doesn't seem like this will be a major rift going forward. Things often get heated in practices and training camps, sometimes even resulting in physical fights, so this isn't an abnormal situation. Ballage clearly still has plenty to learn, and it seems like he is firmly behind Kenyan Drake and Frank Gore on the depth chart for now.--Elliott Baas - RotoBaller
