4 years agoPittsburgh Pirates third baseman Ke'Bryan Hayes (wrist) will begin a rehab assignment later this week, according to Rob Biertempful of The Athletic. Hayes has been out of action since the first weekend of the season while dealing with wrist inflammation. He recently began swinging a bat again, and on Wednesday he took part in a simulated game. Hayes is expected to join Triple-A Indianapolis for a rehab assignment this week, and he is eligible to come off the injured list on June 3. Managers will hope that he can return to his 2020 form that saw him slash .376/.442/.682 in 24 games when he's activated.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
