Keegan Akin Earns Big League Call, Candidate To Start Sunday
4 years agoBaltimore Orioles left-handed pitcher Keegan Akin has been brought up to the big league roster for the first time, making him a candidate to start Sunday against Washington. Ranked as the club’s No. 13 prospect per MLB Pipeline, Akin made 25 appearances (24 starts) at Triple-A last season and compiled a 4.73 ERA, but struck out 131 batters in 112 ⅓ innings. Racking up punchouts was the name of the game for Akin in the Minors, amassing 9.9 K/9 across four Minor League seasons. If the 25-year-old is ultimately tabbed for the start Sunday, he could have some DFS appeal due to what likely will be a bargain basement price tag.
