Keibert Ruiz Hit In The Face Saturday
3 years agoWashington Nationals catcher Keibert Ruiz was hit in the face by a pitch while up to bat during Saturday's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. The incident occurred in the sixth inning and fellow catcher Riley Adams immediately pinch-ran for him. Ruiz is in the midst of a rough campaign split between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Nationals. He's slashing .114/.162/.200 with one home run in 14 games. Ruiz will likely have to take a trip to the injured list, which will give the 25-year old Adams more chances for playing time. He's hitting .250 with a .432 slugging, two home runs and a 7.9 BB% over 37 games this season. Fantasy managers needing catching help can consider targeting him on the wire.
