2 years agoWashington Nationals catcher Keibert Ruiz reached base five times Friday, going 2-for-2 with two walks, a hit-by-pitch, one RBI and one run scored. He also stole a base, his sixth of the year in seven attempts. Ruiz has only managed a .665 OPS in 381 plate appearances this season, but he has shown the potential to reach double digits in both the power and speed categories. In a shallow catcher pool, this makes him a fantasy option, regardless of his meager offensive statistics, and there's every chance he continues to improve in the coming years as he develops further.--Doug Goldring - RotoBaller
