7 years agoWashington Nationals relief pitcher Kelvin Herrera (shoulder) could return from the disabled list on Tuesday or Wednesday of next week after throwing a 15-pitch simulated game on Saturday. Manager Dave Martinez was impressed with Herrera. With closer Sean Doolittle and veteran reliever Ryan Madson injured, Herrera could return to the ninth-inning duties over Koda Glover next week. Herrera has a nice 2.53 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 37 strikeouts in 42 2/3 innings to go along with 17 saves.
