Ken Giles Plays Catch Thursday
5 years agoToronto Blue Jays relief pitcher Ken Giles (elbow) played catch Thursday before the team's game in Baltimore. Giles hasn't pitched since July 27 as he's been dealing with elbow inflammation that likely kept him from being traded at the deadline. Manager Charlie Montoyo said Giles felt great and could pitch in a game Sunday or Monday. Giles had been a useful fantasy option with 14 saves and a 1.54 ERA supported by a 1.59 FIP this season and should be the team's primary saves source as long as he's healthy. Justin Shafer got the team's most recent save with Giles on the shelf.
