5 years agoSan Francisco 49ers wide receiver Kendrick Bourne caught a 21-yard touchdown in Thursday’s preseason game against the Los Angeles Chargers. Targeted thrice, Bourne made his only grab count with a diving score on a broken play. Bourne has mixed in drops and solid reps this training camp, finishing the four-game exhibition with six catches for 87 yards and two touchdowns. After leading Niner wideouts in receiving last season, Bourne is battling veteran Jordan Matthews for the final receiver spot. In his favor, the three-year player has spent his whole career with the 49ers and contributes on special teams. However, Matthews has a longer track record in the NFL.
