Kenneth Gainwell Leads Eagles In Rushing Yards
2 years agoPhiladelphia Eagles running back Kenneth Gainwell carried the ball 11 times for 46 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's win against the Cleveland Browns. The second-year back led the team in rushing yards in Sunday's contest. Gainwell's receiving talent was not on display during the contest. Fellow back Boston Scott started for Philadelphia, leaving the entire second drive for Gainwell to manage. With Miles Sanders nursing a hamstring injury, this seemed like a nice battle for the right to take over as the lead back if Sanders were to miss time during the regular season. Gainwell was more explosive than Scott, proving he can be more than just a pass-catching specialist out of the backfield. Gainwell is an excellent draft flier right now, with his ADP sitting in the back of the 11th round. The 23-year-old will work into the offense as a key player whether Sanders is active or not.
