Kenneth Gainwell - Week 1 Outlook for Fantasy Football

2 years agoPhiladelphia Eagles running back Kenneth Gainwell opens the season on the road against the Detroit Lions Sunday. Detroit is a great matchup, as they allowed the second-most points per game to the running back position in 2021. However, Gainwell will occupy the role of the passing downs back for Philadelphia with Miles Sanders (hamstring) practicing in full. Detroit tied for the fewest receptions allowed to the RB position last season but gave up eight receiving touchdowns to them, the second-most in the league. Gainwell averaged 6.4 touches per game in 2021. Even if his role increases this season, he is a boom or bust flex option this week against Detroit.--Ryan Larrison - RotoBaller
