3 years agoPhiladelphia Eagles rookie running back Kenneth Gainwell could lead the Eagles backfield in Week 8. He could also end up staying in his low-volume pass catching role. Facing off against the winless Detroit Lions, Gainwell heads into Week 8 as the running back with possibly the most variation in projections. If he steps into the near every-down role vacated by the injured Miles Sanders (ankle), then he has clear RB1 upside in a game that the Eagles should control. With Boston Scott around and Jordan Howard elevated from the practice squad though, the two veterans could split carries while Gainwell continues to see just passing game usage.
