Kenny Pickett Off To A Rough Start
2 years agoPittsburgh Steelers rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett had a rough first three days of training camp last week. The first-round pick has been erratic and inconsistent throwing the football, and he has taken all of his repetitions with the third-team offense so far. It has some believing it will be impossible for him to improve quickly enough to be the Week 1 starter, especially if Mitch Trubisky keeps progressing. Pickett has been running for his life behind the third-string offensive line. When Pickett did have time to throw on Friday, his receivers didn't really help him out. The starting QB gig is Trubisky's to lose at this point, and although Pickett could see some starts later in the year depending on how Trubisky plays, it's unrealistic to expect him to start early on in 2022.
