3 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Kenta Maeda earned his first win since returning from the injured list Sunday against the Texas Rangers. Maeda pitched 5 1/3 innings, allowing two runs on five hits with one walk issued. The veteran righty struck out four and induced 12 whiffs on 84 pitches. Maeda is still building up his arm on the fly as he only needed one rehab start before returning, though he has looked much better on the mound post-injury. He has allowed three runs over 9 1/3 innings with 11 strikeouts in two starts since returning. Maeda will look to keep the momentum going on June 26 against the Cleveland Indians. He fanned six batters in his most recent start against the Indians.--Tim Capurso
