2 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Kenta Maeda (elbow) is throwing 87-90 mph and is progressing towards a live bullpen session, according to beat writer Aaron Gleeman. Maeda has been throwing off a mound recently and is working his way towards a potential September debut with the Twins. The veteran hurler underwent Tommy John surgery last September and could help Minnesota in a late-season playoff push if all goes well. The 34-year-old compiled a 6-5 record, 4.66 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, and 113:32 K/BB ratio over 106 1/3 innings (21 starts) during the 2021 season prior to his surgery.--Jon Mathisen - RotoBaller
