3 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Kenta Maeda (arm, groin) is set to throw a bullpen session before Friday's game against the Kansas City Royals. Maeda was initially placed on the injured list with a groin strain, though the Twins announced that he would be out for longer than expected due to arm soreness that popped up. The veteran right-hander is slated to toss another bullpen session either this weekend or next week, at which time a more clear timetable for his return should emerge. If things go well, it's reasonable to expect Maeda back on the mound at some point before the end of June. Hopefully, the time off will allow him to rediscover last season's success, as Maeda has struggled mightily in 2021.--Tim Capurso
