Kenyan Drake Fool's Gold?
5 years agoArizona Cardinals running back Kenyan Drake ate up all the looks in the backfield in the team's last game with 16 rushes for 67 yards and six grabs for 13 yards. He's averaging 5.2 yards per carry in three games with the Cards, which would be his best since his rookie season with 33 attempts in 2016. That's not a mirage, either, because the Cards' offensive line isn't among the better ones. Still, though, it's hard to fathom that the team would fall this deeply in love with him when they gave David Johnson a big deal to be their lead back. Drake has a midrange matchup against the Los Angeles Rams this week, and there's just something about him as an RB2 that feels risky. Come into Week 13 fortified at the position. He's golden as a flex, but something seems fishy about his usage rate the last couple of games.
