He will make his first major league career start while serving as an opener in Wednesday's game against the Rockies. The 27-year-old owns a 3.75 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, and a 16:11 K: BB across 24 innings in 2021. Fantasy managers shouldn't expect Middleton to pitch deep into the game and he isn't a recommended streaming option for Wednesday's slate. Mariners' right-hander Chris Flexen is scheduled to follow Middleton and will be used as the primary pitcher. Flexen has been terrific in 2021, posting a 3.35 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, and a 65:20 K: BB across 99 1/3 innings in 2021.
