4 years agoMilwaukee Brewers second baseman Keston Hiura was a precautionary scratch from Wednesday’s intrasquad lineup because of right arm fatigue, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. Hiura has a history of elbow issues dating to his college days at UC Irvine. The Brewers knew of a right elbow injury before they drafted him ninth overall in 2017, but he was able to avoid surgery by undergoing treatment instead, and he had not experienced any major arm trouble since. While this was only a precautionary measure, it is one to monitor early in the season. Hiura is one of the game's bright young hitters and is a key piece for the Brewers success this season and in the future. Cutting down on strikeouts will be a key for Hiura moving forward, and if he can cut down on his 30.7 percent whiff rate from last season, he could turn into one of the game's elite hitters. His current ADP sits at 53.7 and could rise with his hot spring at the plate. He's a very good young hitter and he's worth investing in.--James Stokke
