Ketel Marte Injures Hamstring On Wednesday
4 years agoArizona Diamondbacks second baseman/outfielder Ketel Marte (hamstring) left Wednesday's game against the Colorado Rockies with an apparent right hamstring injury. He pulled up running to first base, appeared to grab at his hamstring, fell to the outfield grass, and had to be helped off the field by the Arizona training staff. While the extent of the injury is unclear at this time, based on the look of the injury, it is likely he will miss some time. Marte is looking to bounce back from a somewhat underwhelming 2020 campaign. He had been off to a blistering start on the 2021 season prior to the injury, posting a .462/.500/.846 slash line with two home runs and five RBI over 26 at-bats. More information regarding the extent of the injury should come out on Thursday. Managers who roster Marte will hold their collective breath, hoping that the severity of the injury is not as bad as it looked.
