6 years agoAtlanta Braves starting pitchers Kevin Gausman and Sean Newcomb are the front-runners to pitch in Games 3 and 4, respectively, against the Dodgers in the National League Division Series. However, manager Brian Snitker wouldn't rule out using either pitcher or Julio Teheran in relief before then. Gausman was much better for the Braves than with the Orioles this year, going 5-3 with a 2.87 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 6.6 K/9 in 10 starts for Atlanta. Newcomb can be a bit erratic with his control (4.4 BB/9), but he also struck out 160 hitters in 164 innings (8.8 K/9) with a 3.90 ERA over 31 games (30 starts). The Dodgers had a National League-best .796 OPS against right-handers as opposed to a .733 OPS (eight) against lefties, so Newcomb will be the more attractive DFS play in this series.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
