3 years agoSan Francisco Giants starting pitcher Kevin Gausman will open up the second half of the season on Friday night when he takes the mound against St. Louis. Gausman has easily been one of the best pitchers in baseball through the first half of the season, going 9-3 with a 1.73 ERA, 0.820 WHIP and 30.5 percent strikeout rate over 114 2/3 innings of work. So clearly you should be starting him every time he takes the mound, and that will absolutely be the case when he faces a St. Louis squad that is slashing .228/.298/.376 against right-handed pitching this year.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
